About This Course
Upon completion of this unit, you will acquire the knowledge and skills to be a WSHMS Programme Lead for the organisation in preparing a WSHMS implementation plan to meet the requirements of SS506 and risk management code of practice and for recognition of bizSAFE Level 4 by Workplace Safety and Health (WSH).
It entails reviewing the current WSH policy, risk management plan and WSH programmes.
It also includes establishing frameworks for WSH management programmes and emergency preparedness and response plan in accordance with organisational safety and health needs and WSH legal and other requirements.
What You’ll Learn
– Review WSH policy and risk management plan for deficiencies against the requirements of SS506 and risk management code of practice
– Apply hazard identification and risk assessment methodology to determine the controls necessary in reducing risks at source in accordance with requirements of SS506 and risk management code of practice
– Set WSH objectives and determine specific programme(s) to enable the achievement of WSH objectives for organisation in alignment with WSH policy
– Establish WSH management programme framework for organisation to embark on to meet the organisational safety and health needs in accordance with WSH legal and other requirements
– Establish a framework for organisational emergency preparedness and response plan in accordance with WSH legal and other requirements
– Develop operational control to manage the WSH risks to an acceptable level in consistence with hierarchy of controls and comply with applicable WSH legal and other requirements
– Develop processes for investigation and reporting of accident/ incident based on WSH legal and other requirements – Establish an internal audit programme to evaluate the organisational WSH management system for conformance to SS506 requirements and WSH legal and other requirements
– Develop the WSH management system implementation plan based on the needed changes identified that fulfill SS506 requirements and risk management code of practice
– Conduct management review of WSH management system to ensure its continuing stability, adequacy and effectiveness in accordance with SS506 requirements and WSH legal and other requirements
– Present to stakeholders the developed WSH management system implementation plan for review in accordance with organisational procedures

- To acquire the skills and knowledge to develop a WSH MS implementation plan based on SS ISO 45001 OH&S MS Standard, for recognition of attainment of bizSAFE level 4 by the Workplace Safety and Health Council.

They should be able to apply their skills and knowledge to contextualize to the needs of their organizations to complete their targeted projects, innovate and implement risk management team, risk assessment, controlling and monitoring the risks, communicating these risks to all persons involved a risk management plan for the organization.
Course & Assessment duration
The recommended Learning Hour for Develop a Workplace Safety and Health Management System (WSHMS) Implementation Plan, bizSAFE Level 4 programme is 30 hours of competency-based Learning and assessment. The recommended Learning duration for the competency unit is illustrated in Table C

Attendance & Assessment
Kindly note that you are required to achieve a minimum of 75% attendance and be certified competent in all the assessment components.
Should you fail to meet the attendance/assessment requirements and/or terms and conditions of SSG’s funding, you will not be eligible for the course fee funding and will have to bear the full course fees.
Qualification or experience or both of facilitators conducting the services
- Have demonstrated competency for the programme to be delivered.
- Have at least three (3) years of relevant industry experience at supervisory or managerial level, including evidence of maintaining currency, for example, through recent work in the industry as supervisor, consultant or trainer, or professional development or active membership of a professional association.
- Be certified competent in Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP), or Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP) 2.0.

- Classroom used for this training has adequate seating.
- Equipped with projectors, whiteboards, flipcharts and specific training aides related.
- The classroom must be adequately illuminated and ventilated.

- Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive the WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by SkillsFuture Singapore.
