About This Course
This course is only for the low wage workers in the PWM-Cleaning Sector.
The learning units are sequenced from a topical approach, starting with:
- LU1: Safe Work Practices and Risk Control
- LU2: Potential Hazards and Unsafe Work Practices
- LU3: Workplace Emergency Response.
Upon learning about the different topics under Workplace Safety and Health Practices, learners will next learn to apply the knowledge and skills to transfer the learning acquired to their workplace, which includes:
- Apply safe work practices and risk control
- Identify potential hazards and unsafe work practices
- Perform workplace emergency response
What You’ll Learn
This course will be targeted primarily at entry or junior workers in the Cleaning Industry whose job involve a basic understanding to follow and comply with organizational workplace safety and health (WSH) policies and guidelines within their work environment/ environmental services industry.
This training is essential to equip the learners with the knowledge and abilities in order to follow organizational WSH policies and guidelines to prevent accidents or minimize risk within the environment services industry.

Minimum Entry Requirement
Learners should meet the basic entry requirements as indicated below:
1. Ability to read, write, speak, and listen to English at WPL Level 2.
2. Ability to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 2.
3. Education: Primary education without Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLE) / Primary School Proficiency Certificate (PSPE) or equivalent; PSLE / PSPE or equivalent.
4. Age: 21 and above

• A checklist to be provided to HR to ensure the learner requirements (above) are met
• To make recommendations on suitable courses if the individual does not meet the entry criteria
• Verification of authenticity can be done via checking on certificates
Attendance & Assessment
Kindly note that you are required to achieve a minimum of 75% attendance and be certified competent in all the assessment components.
Should you fail to meet the attendance/assessment requirements and/or terms and conditions of SSG’s funding, you will not be eligible for the course fee funding and will have to bear the full course fees.
